چکیده

Mobile hosts in a wireless network can move from one location to another while communicating with other hosts. A challenge is to provide seamless network access for mobile hosts and, at the same time, to retain compatibility with existing network protocols and applications. This paper addresses the issue of route optimization in IP mobility support that provides mobile hando and \triangle" routing to mobile hosts through their home agents. We combine IP mobility support with hierarchical dynamic routing protocols OSPF and BGP. Existing mechanisms of authentication, incremental route propagation, and address aggregation can be used for e cient and secure propagation of location updates of mobile hosts. The geographical locality of consecutive mobile hando s ts well with hierarchical dynamic routing protocols. No changes are required on xed hosts or on routers that do not handle mobile hosts

Security Issues in Space Networks

Satellites are being used to capture real-time images, video for various purposes, such as, observing the Earth, weather data, live images for tornado, cyclones, tsunami, etc. In future, these data can be accessed by terrestrial users through the Internet. Mobility protocols aim at providing uninterrupted realtime data communication facilities through seamless Internet connectivity to hosts or ...

Managing Simultaneous Mobility of Ip Hosts

Since triangular routing in Mobile IP (MIP) is undesirable, MIP with Route Optimization (MIP-RO) and MIP with Location Registers (MIP-LR), all use binding updates that are sent directly to a Correspondent Host. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based mobility management also uses direct binding updates between a Mobile Host and a Correspondent Host. However, this makes these protocols (except t...

A Location Update Protocol Supporting Route Optimization for Mobile Hosts

Using the Internet as a foundation for wireless networking, there is currently a great deal of interest in providing IP networking support for mobile hosts. As a result of IP's reliance on the entire Internet address for host identiication, most proposals depend on a default route through the mobile host's home address, which makes for unnecessarily long routes. This paper introduces two concep...

Simultaneous mobility: analytical framework, theorems and solutions

The original Mobile IP (MIP) protocol does not perform route optimisation but uses Home Agents to forward traffic. Thus, it does not have problems with simultaneous mobility, i.e., the special case when both end hosts are mobile and move at about the same time. However, MIP for IPv6 (MIPv6) uses binding updates that are sent directly to a correspondent node. Session Initiation Protocol based mo...

Performance Analysis of Prefix Delegation-Based Route Optimization Schemes: Effects of Increasing the Number of Nodes

Prefix delegation-based schemes have been proposed to solve the route optimization problem in NEtwork MObility (NEMO) where multiple IP-enabled hosts move together as a mobile network. Differences in the route optimization for hosts at the cost of increased signaling will result in performance difference of the schemes depending on parameters, such as speed of the mobile network, its distance f...
